Shipping Australia Limited is pleased to welcome Ocean Network Express (Australia) Pty Ltd (ONE) as a full voting member.
“Our mission is to represent the interests of all sectors of shipping in Australia, but we are particularly strong in the area of liner shipping with a history tracing back to 1912. It is great to have ONE-line join us”, chairman Scott Henderson said.
“A major effort for Shipping Australia Limited this year will be to negotiate a suitable class exemption for liner shipping. We are well placed to do that as we now represent around 90 per cent of the container trade through Australia.
ONE (Australia) director, Alex Rawley, noted that whilst “ONE is a relatively new company that came to market in 2018, ONE brings with it the quality legacy of three Japanese liner companies, who historically prided themselves on high level service quality and process excellence.
“Now that ONE is established as a major global container shipping company, with an extensive network service covering over more than 100 countries, it is timely that we join Shipping Australia Limited to share our expertise and strengthen our involvement and growth in Australia.”
“Every new member makes our association stronger and better-placed to represent the industry in our interaction with governments and to influence good shipping policy”, chairman Scott Henderson concluded.
